Kristin & Justin’s Wedding

Here’s a throwback post to one of my favorite weddings last year. When I first met Kristin & Justin, I knew their wedding was going to be an AWESOME day. Right from the beginning, they had the right attitude towards wedding planning. They knew they wanted it to be fun, genuine to their personalities, and they were totally willing to go with the flow. The whole day was light hearted and relaxed, full of laughter, good music, and good people. What more could you ask for?

Their ceremony and reception was held at the Pavilion On Crystal Lake in Middletown, CT. You guys… this venue was incredible!! First of all, you couldn’t find a more beautiful ceremony location right at the peak of Autumn. The leaves surrounding the charming outdoor ceremony site were just breathtaking. The reception hall is absolutely stunning, decked out in warm tones, earthy wood, and adorable fairy lights. The food was delicious, and the staff was like part of the family! I loved it there. Kristin & Justin decided to go with a subtle Alice in Wonderland theme, which I ADORED. I’m a big fan of Alice in Wonderland, so all these little details made me so happy!

Joe Garcia of Jade DJ Entertainment brought the tunes, and some killer up-lighting! As a photographer, I always appreciate DJs who get people moving, laughing and having a great time- it’s better for the photos! And these guys were GREAT at that. A fantastic DJ knows how to read the crowd and which song to play next… Jade DJ Entertainment made sure everyone had an amazing time the whole night long!

Finally, it was a true pleasure working with Videographer Chad Whelan. Be sure to scroll down to watch Kristin & Justin’s highlight video at the end of this post. One of my favorite parts of the day was getting creative with the bridal party and encouraging them to get silly and show their personalities. I LOVE how these photos came out, and Chad captured all the fun moments in between frames! Obviously, we took some traditional, “serious” shots too, but when I’m able to capture the spontaneity of a real friendship, that’s hard to beat.

Kristin & Justin, thank you so much for having Jeni and myself come to document your wedding day. You guys had us smiling from ear to ear the whole day long… we love you guys!! As far as weddings go, you two really nailed it. =)
