Baby Chase

When Chase’s mom Amanda contacted me, he was already a week old. The rule of thumb for getting those adorable, sleepy, curly newborn photos is typically from 6-10 days old. After the two week mark, babies become less flexible and more alert, but they still can’t focus their eyes, so it can be a challenge to get a good photo. I knew I had to find a way to squeeze this family in as soon as possible so they could get some amazing photos of their baby boy while he was still oh-so-tiny!

At 13 days old, Chase was a champion sleeper. He slept like a rock for most of our session, and we finished up in just 45 minutes! (Newborn sessions usually last 1.5-2 hours on average.) A friend of the family gifted them a precious little owl hat, complete with knit diaper cover and booties, which they brought along for the photos. I grabbed one of my wreath props and some textured wraps to coordinate with the set. Aside from that, mom and dad preferred simple and classic bare-bottom poses for the rest of the session. I can’t say I blame them- baby Chase is absolute perfection, no embellishments needed! He was even kind enough to give us a couple of smiles during the session. =)

Take a look at this beautiful family…
